[Closed] frame warranty Q

So I'm looking at buying a second hand, but almost unused frame - about 9 months old. The original owner didn't fill out the warranty card, so I'm wondering if that could be filled out in my name - which would need the connivance of the shop where the frame was originally purchased from.

Even at second hand prices, it's still an expensive frame, and one from a manufacturer/importer that doesn't have the greatest reputation for reliability or customer service ever. Having a valid warranty could be the deciding factor in the purchase.

Thoughts?

Cheers, Jon

What is it you're buying Jon? Not an Ellsworth by any chance?

Can the seller give you the receipt as well?
if you had that and the warranty card would
imagine you would be ok.

Unless the shop is on-side (why would they be?) I doubt you'd get the warranty.

I'm pretty sure you'd need receipt/proof of purchase for a warranty. Not sure the warranty card is worth anything without them,

Maybe ring the retailer and say you have a frame thats bust and ask what you need to bring in.

I'd say the receipt was more important than a completed warranty card?

I'd be surprised if a shop would join in with this - if they got caught out they'd be 'in trouble'
