I'm looking for a frame that is singlespeed specific and able to take upto a "3 tyre.

I'm not wanting to spend thousands and as a result, I seem to be struggling to find one.

At the top of the list at the moment is the Pipedream Moxie & Sirius both of which have sliding dropouts and are able to accommodate a tyre upto "2.8..

I've looked at the likes of Curtis and although the AM Explorer would be spot on, it's a tad rich for this project.

Anybody have any suggestions that won't cost more than £1000 (for the frame)?

Dare I say Kona Unit?
Yes , I have one and little to compare it to. Post 2018 has plus clearances and I’m pretty sure will take 3”. I’m on 2.8.
Was a cheap bike and bought on a whim. Has become my bike of choice for most rides now and feels ‘lively’ and comfortable.

If you can find a Pinnacle Ramin 3+ frame secondhand it'll take up to a 2.8 at the back and has an ebb. A shame they stopped making them, I love mine.

Krampus? Stooge?

Yes! 😆

I own one of each - OG Krampus and a Mk4 Stooge.

The Krampus is a 'proper' 29+, whereas the Stooge will only do 2.6 in the back (3.0 in the front easily though)

Very different beasts, but both excellent bikes.

I've got both set up SS.
The Stooge is a proper Singletrack beast, very capable downhill and great for up and down-country rides.
The Krampus has very wide Salsa drops on, and is my all day 'gravel' bike. BUT it's still a hoot on twisty, woodsy trails. A lot steeper and shorter than the Stooge though.

Another recommendation for a Krampus. Picked up a secondhand frame a few years ago on here and it's been great fun. Looks like a new frame and fork can be had for around £850.

A Singular Rooster would also fit the bill (if you can find one second hand).
