Want a new hardtail should i go ally or steel. Wanna do some more longer distance bikepacking routes so somat forgiving. Which frames are the best out there at the mo then??
Might need a bit more info! Budget? Already got parts to transfer? Bit more about the riding you want it for? Thinking of the longer distance stuff you could start the hunt by looking at something like an inbred 29er. Can be run with a rigid fork or a 100mm fork and it's got rack mounts.

i got a spesh hardtail at mo wanted to use most of the kit on it as is all hope n shim. got 100mm fork on it already which would save some cash is 29 the way forward? prob wanna spend no more than £400 on frame
If budget is tight then maybe not, new wheels and fork required. Maybe the 26 inbred. What's wrong with the spesh hardtail?
