[#1922751]

I was in the process of buying a small Intense Spider 2 turns out it's far too small for me after trying one, unfortunatley I've now sold my 575! Not a massive problem as I fancied a change though it leaves me temporarily bike less (you may all cheer as this will surely mean the weather will be fantastic until it's replaced)

So now I don't know what I want, something similar to the 575 (without carbon rear end)

Recommendations please!

DW is very good I test rode the turner but found it a bit to burly for my needs and got an ibis instead, same suspension, much less weight, very marginally less stiff

as a wildcard entry (which has had some great reviews) the Titus FTM in whatever material you can afford

SC Blur LT2. Don't seem to get anyone on here suggesting them, but plenty have them and all the reviews are rave. Choice of alu or carbon. Intense share in their suspension design so will be similar to what you are after.

Yes - I have a 5.5 FRO. It's a very fast and flighty feel, although the lightweight build on mine exagerates this. Even so, they're long travel, short wheelbase and steep angled machines which can be great fun in the right place at the right time.

I prefer my Spitfire for just about everything.

Cheers for the feed back and offers! Thinking maybe a transition covert now however, or as my mate suggested just get a hardcore hardtail cotic maybe

Owned a 5.5 Intense, Yeti 575 (08), Santa Cruz Blur, S Works FSR, S Works Enduro and two Turner 5 Spots. The clues in the one I've had twice - the Turner is a very very good bike but I will admit mine were the HL models and I'm still waiting for my demo DW Link bike. Also had an Ibis Mojo SL long-term demo and it's a very very nice bike indeed and would definitely be on my short list for a new frame.

trimix on here has just got a covert (or not, its still being built up and we think its a figment of his imagination).

Get a demo on one of the new SC bikes, butcher or nickel, back to back with one of their VPP bikes to see how they compare? Or just wait 'til Intense release a rip off version, they'll be along in a minute ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a heckler. It's the only 5" bike I've owned but it is without doubt the best 5" bike in existence, past, present or future.

END OF THREAD.

The 575 I've just sold was yours hadge such a great bike! Just fancied something newer and less carbon as the mrs has given me the all clear for avalanche next year and not sure the rear end would handle a big rock strike or more likely me crashing big style!
