Are forks with spprings in lower maintenance? Am I right in assuming that they are smoother but heavier?

IME yes they are less maintenance. Lack of air seals makes them plusher too.

Weight difference is very minimal, 200g perhaps? The feel more than makes up for that. My Fox 32 Vanilla R are great. Set rebound and you're done.

They take a lot less setting up, that's for sure.

200g is not far off 0.5lb. I'd not call that minimal TBH.

Except that a lot of people then stick 200g of shock pump in their backpack. I've never had to top up a spring mid-ride.

Someone need to eat way more fibers ๐Ÿ˜‰
I have a van R and a float R and I prefer the van. I don't like the float, too much faf to set up plus it's not as plush

True. Me included, but I do have a rear air shock too and I don't take the shock pump out all the time.

Mainenance-wise, I used to be a coil man, but I've had air suspension for two years now and theres not blind bit of diffence in the service interval.

Amongst Fox forks I'd say the Vanilla has a much nicer feel than Floats, the Floats are too progressive for my liking - the last 20% of travel is absolutely rock hard and you never use it.

However, I think air Revelations are much closer to the action of Vanillas, but at a lower weight.

Seeing as i don't own a Float R with 15QR i can't say for sure what the weight difference is! It's probably less, who cares?
