[Closed] Fox Vanilla-Float swapover

I've got a pair of vanilla32s that have a 1.5" steerer on my mmmBop and a pair of Float32s on the Five with a 1 1/8" steerer. I've been considering swapping the internals and lower legs over to give me a pair of coil sprung forks on the five for burlier duties in the states and whistler over summer. A friend of mine was going to do this years ago but was told by Mojo that it was a bad idea as the coating on the inside the stanchions was different on the air sprung floats. They may of course have been trying to get him to purchase a different pair of stanchions from them. Anyone done this? They are only a 6 months old or so, so I've not yet stripped them to know.
