Basically is the Transfer worth it over a Brand X or similar?

Not bothered about it not coming with the lever as I need one of the little grip end paddle ones anyway.

Mine ate itself, luckily just before it’s warranty ran out. Doesn’t seem anything particularly special

No. A one up would be worth the extra over a brand x though.

I have a transfer on one bike and a oneup v2.1 on the other. Transfer is a bit better but not worth the extra IMO.

Get the Marzocchi version of the Transfer.

Identical (truly, I've had both in my hand at once, box, manuals, post etc) and often available cheaper than the Fox.

I've had both. The transfer is clearly a nicer post, but it's not worth it over the brandX IMO, especially for a tube that just has to go up and down. I sold two transfers between 2 years and 18 months old and used the proceeds to by two brand new brandx, which are now a year old and perfectly fine.

The service cost of the transfer approaches the purchase price of the brandX and you can't home service a transfer because of specialist tools.

The brand X can be disassembled with home tools and a full service kit is a mere 15 quid.

Got both and they both go up and down when you want them to except the fox was sticky from new and had to be sent back for a rebuild under warranty. It's fine now though. The fox maybe has the superior seat clamp and the brand x has had slightly more play from new but basically they both do what they are supposed to do. Fox came with new bike, if I had to replace it with my own cash I would be buying Brand x.

So after my last post i am now in the need for a dropper for a new bike!

Choice is a Transfer which i have on my FS bike or the Brand X which i have on my hybrid/kid carrying/do everything bike

So i was going to go for the Brand X as they are around £120 and the FOX Transfer is £300+

But Winstanley's have the FOX Performance (non Kashima coating) stealth droppers in size 31.6mm, 150mm drop for £159!!!

That's a cracking price on the Fox.

I DON'T need a spare dropper. I don't NEED a spare dropper. I don't need a spare dropper....
