I recently put new seals into my rear shock and gave it a bit of general TLC. When I was putting it all back together one of the tips to get the thing to stay compressed long enough to screw it in was to set the rebound on the slowest setting. When adjusting the rebound knob for this purpose there appeared to be no noticeable difference in the speed of rebound and I wondered if I had buggered the thing up.
Is there a way of telling if the rebound is actually adjusting correctly or even at all??? Please don't suggest riding it and seeing how it feels as I haven't clue what it should feel like and don't think i am good enough a rider to notice the slight nuaunces of one or two clicks. Just don't want to end up over the bars on the first ride out ๐
Cheers
Just compress the rear suspension and see. If it is working correctly you will see a very noticeable difference in the rebound speed from slowest to fastest.
Have you fitted it back on the bike and pressurised it?
I found that when i serviced my Fox CTD adjusting the rebound didn't help all that much when I was re-assembling it. works fine with air in it though!
Lift up and Drop the bike from about a foot in the air with the rebound to the max, turn the dial the other eay then do it again and check the difference in bounce this should give you a rough indication.
Thanks guys, will try it tomorrow night
