Got some 2003 fox f80RL forx. I tend to service them myslefbut just recently they have started rocking a little with the brakes on. I'm presuming the top bushings so have quickly researched and it's seem as though a fair few people are defeatist about doing a DIY replacement. I've also read that it may be that a full service may just cure it but I think after 11 years of use the bushings are probably nailed. Has anyone on here done it before? Was thinking about creating a puller froma threaded rod and a oval section of steel which in my mind has a 100% success rate!

Also the other slight hurdle is finding bushes. Can't seem to find any for sale here now? Can order some from the US. I would presume that it would just be a standard Fox 32 bushing kit too.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

It needs to be done by a specialist really. Do you know how to size the bushings to the stanchions?
I personally wouldnit take the risk of buggering up a set of forks for the sake of £70 or so.
Plus Im not aware that Fox will sell bushings to anyone but approved service centres.
Give Simon @ Loco Tuning a call, he'll see you right!

No... I've read a few posts about this and that existing ones can be re-sized but have no idea what this means. I'm just being tight as I only paid £60 for the forks 5 years ago so don't want to pay over the odds for getting them repaired. If it's a cheap fix then I would rather do a DIY job otherwise I may as well look at another pair of newer s/h forks.

Just read that if they are tight/loose then you move them up/down the leg... apparently...

Stripped the forks earlier. lost some oil by the looks of things. Need to order some more seals... new low stiction seals must some con deal by fox! An also appear to be missing a bearing from the lockout lever...

Just tweeted Loco as he seems a decent bloke otherwise anyone used Foxspares?

Was impressed with service from Loco. Ordered some bits after lunch and they arrived next day. Top Bloke.

Can't remember when the forks were last serviced but they have plenty of oil in now! Think I lost a fair bit... one of the foam seals was pretty skanky too! There doesn't seem to be the play there now that was there before so lets see how it goes.
