.....Have there been a lot of them going very cheap on the classifides recently?

I'm talking £100 - £140 cheap. 36s, 32s, Vanillas, Floats, the lot.
One I've seen had a bit of stanchion wear but most have been in good nick. Indeed the chap who bought Mrs PPs Rock Lobster bought a pair of Float RLs (after I found cracks in the disc mounts of the Magura Phaons on the bike 🙁 ) for £110 posted. I fitted and set them up for him and they were brilliant and apart from some cable rub were in superb condidion.

There's some silly bargains out there right now. Very odd. But very handy. 🙂

It's not just Fox, most forks on there are pretty cheap at the minute

I think part of it is that 2-4 year old forks that are still around have had some use and are being replaced for 'better' models, but they're still brilliant bits of kit. A mate has some Vanilla Rs that must be 5 years old now, (125mm travel) and they just keep going and going. 🙂

Wish I had the money for some 36 Vanillas for the Pitch......

They are bloody amazing! Don't think they are any heavier than the coil Pikes that come with the Pitch but they are really in a different league going DH. Can't wait to try them in the Alps.

Got a reasonable deal on mine but they still weren't cheap obviously. Don't regret it though.

Grumm, what do they do to the general handling of the bike? Mine climbs OK in a slow steady manner as it is, will the extra length affect that too much? Just wondering.... 🙂

The front end is noticeably more wandery on climbs but it's not a massive problem and I can still get up pretty much everything I could before - I had gone down to a really short stem before I got the forks but have put a slightly longer one back on it now to get my weight a bit further forward which seems to have helped.

Plus it looks teh awesomeness imo 🙂

Fair enough. About what I was hoping you would say actually.

Re: Stems, I tried a 40mm and a 60mm on my Pitch and both of them made the stering feel odd, sorta floppy, so I went back to the OE one in the end. It seems Spesh got the stem length perfect to me.
I did stick some 710mm bars on though. Which are sweeeeeeeeeeeet! 🙂
The OE bars are now on my Inbred, and have noticeably stiffened the steering up

Interesting to see what else you've changed as well. Those standard rims were way to narrow IMO. I built myself some Hope/SUN SOS wheels on the cheap, with a plain gauge 36 spoke rear. Beefy as hell!
And I had, err 'issues' with the Juicys overheating in the Alps too, but I had some Magura Louises sorta lying around...... 😉

I'm selling my Forx 100RL's (ex Juliana) for £135 posted. Have been really pleased with them but I do get them serviced.

My vans which have just sold are a bit worn cosmetically but are faultless on the trail, never leaked, perfect seals and stantions.
I got £130ish for em. I think the reason is that a lot of people want to get away from skewers.

Have now replaced the 819s with Stan's Flow, though there was nothing really wrong with them even after the Mega. Also now replaced the Juicys with Hope M4 front/Tech X2 rear combo. I also put some 710 bars on which are pretty sweet.
