Hi All,

I've had some Fox talas 32mm 140mm 08's for over a year. they have started to leak oil onto the left stanction, past the seal/dust wiper.

I have bought a seal kit & float liquid. I'm now thinking that I also need seals for the internal part where the push rod enters the stanction. Where do I but these/what are they called?

cheers everyone. ๐Ÿ˜‰

If they are open bath forks then just change the seals you'll be fine. servicing the damper is a professional job really.

Thanks for that - does anyone know if my forks are open bath?

Fox Talas 140mm RL 2008 QR.

I really want to do this myself to avoid costs but I'm worried that it's too big a job if they're not open bath...

great, thanks...

I've heard that if I replace the oil in the lower sections, I can use motor oil of different weights. Can anyone guide me to what may be best if I'm just under 12 stone & rag my bike proper... ๐Ÿ˜‰

There are some really good instructions on this site. Helped me so much when I was servicing my Fox 32s.

Just ring Loco and buy the oil and seals off him. He'll see you right.

The easiest is to follow the fox instructions I linked to:

For weights just need 7 Wt and 10 wt (damper side) decent fork oil from online or in motor store and either gearbox oil or float fluid for the seals ๐Ÿ™‚
