I have a set of Fox Float 140 RCL's which when i let the air out of they suck their selves down into the travel !! They even do this when the front wheel is lifted off the ground. Also they do not return fully(when correct psi) and if i push down on the fork arch they extend by approx 10mm.
I think that there must be a problem with the seal between the + and - chamber causing this to happen, but not sure .
Any help appreciated. The forks are 9 months old and had regular lower /wiper seal services,
Does sound like a leak between the 2 chambers, warranty claim (assuming they're eligible) or full service time. Probably not a major job if you're half competant, lots of good guides buried on the Fox site. If not I'd recommend TFTuned, pricey but damned good srvice.
Stumpy,
I presume you mean air spring service time? new seals?
Erm, there aren't 2 air chambers in float forks. If it helps mine do it too. I think there is a negative spring which I suspect will compress the fork when the air is released.
i thought they had a small self balancing air negative air springy thing.
Your very best option would be to phone Mojo suspension as they are the dedicated Fox service and warranty company. They will tell you if its normal or if you can do something different to sort it out or they will look at it and fix/service for free as still under warranty (as long as you have a receipt of original purchase)
On my 2008 float 32 rlc's in the left leg there is
pushrod with spring on it, and the top cap with the air valve on it.
That's all.
