[Closed] Fox fluids?! Half way through lower leg service

Hi all

I'm just part way through a lower leg service on my 2017 fox 34 performance grip forks. I'm wary if I've bought the wrong fluids as they certainly look different to what came out. Granted I am the 2nd owner but they weren't really used so I don't think they'd had a service.

Anyway what came out:

Air side: golden coloured just like fresh engine oil

Damper side: much thinner same colour as petrol

Now according to fox I'm meant to put in 40ml of fox 5wt Teflon infused oil in the air side (which looks like lemonade) . And 10ml of 20wt gold into the damper side (dark golden/brown like honey) Both of which I bought from qbikes on eBay in decanted smaller bottles.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F151221003723

My questions are, has anybody used this place on eBay? Are they authentic and I go ahead? Or has anyone got some of the said fluids that they could compare for me please?

Many thanks guys

I've had a good few bearing kits from QBikes, spoke to Nick a few times, helpful guy. I'd say it's all genuine fluids, he just decants them in to smaller bottles.

Where they used to say use Fox Green 10wt, they are now saying use Fox Gold. They appear to have retrospectively changed all their charts which challenged my memory!! Personally I say Fox Green will still be used until I’ve run out of the supply I’ve got, then I’ll change!

Fox Red 10wt is still the same.

No idea about the 5wt.... maybe it’s Fox Red by a another retrospective designation change designed to panic you and make you buy new oils.

The 5wt Teflon Infused lube is specifically for the Grip Damper, the damper is not sealed it can vent / induce the lower leg fluid,  so the fluid needs to match what's in the damper.

Enter the 4 digit code on your fork on the Fox site and it'll give you all the details of what to use.

I think you might have this the the wrong way round, the 5wt should go in the leg with the damper and the 20wt should go in the leg with the air spring.

Thanks for all your quick responses.

Yes I had written it down on here wrong, I followed fox ID fluid chart for my forks. Just hoping the qbikes repackaged stuff is genuine. As it certainly didn't look like what came out.

All back together now and ready for a ride 😁

Nope he has it right. 40cc in the damper leg, 10cc in the air leg.
