A friend's just shown me a pic of the Fox Float rear shock on a bike he's just bought on eBay - no shock mudguard fitted 🙁 Anodising is well worn. Anybody know if this is fixable? If he doesn't get it fixed how will the shock behave?

Its a new shock body to fix it, is it actually leaking though, have seen afew that look bad but dont leak... If its not broke, dont fix it.

Be worth removing the air can giving it a good clean and re assemble with plenty of shock grease/lube.

He's not taken delivery yet so don't know if it leaks..... hopefully not. If it leaks I think he'll just buy another shock.

Even if it leaks a little bit the clean and lube can get lots more miles out of it.

I had a new shock body on a triad and it was about £70 plus the cost of the usual service... That was a while back mind you.
