I have just taken my rp23 apart to clean and lube the aircan (this is about 6 month old max)
The seals on the shaft are fine - the lip on above that the wiper seal fits into was kinked upwards so the wiper seal did not fit properly. This was bought as an aircan replacement from tftuned or mojo (cannot remember) so just screwed on by me.
I pushed the metal lip down and it went back into place but has a crack in the metal now. I know it does not form part of the seal as it is metal but will it be a problem?
No sharp edges and the seals are all snug etc.
Can't see it being a problem.

Interesting. Doing a service on my mates rp23 and noticed the wiper seal was sticking about further at one particular point. Strip down revealed same as ralph. Got a socket and used it to push the internal ally lip back and same as ralph, it cracked. Still working fine 3 months later. No idea what caused it tho.
how weird - faulty batch perhaps?
