As per the title Rhythm is the base model then Performance? What's float? Can the travel be changed?

just making noise...:

Have two bikes with Float Rhythm 34 forks. 2017 models one with 150 mm travel, the other with 130.

Both have the so called GRIP damper.

In my understanding: the GRIP damper was planned as "low cost version" - but turned out to be a fantastic system. These forks are GREAT. As far as I understand: there is now GRIP 2 in newer forks.

For my Bossnut V2 I bought an new 140 mm Fox fork recently at an CRC sale. This is called a 34 Performance fork. Fit 4 damper. No idea how this for will perform - still bike my Sektor 130 mm fork in the Bossnut... Fit 4 was released in 2016? More complex system compared with the new GRIP?

Strange so: never expected to upgrade all my bikes with Fox forks. But suddendly the "lower end" Fox forks were available in crazy "sales" for little money (200 ... 300 bucks each fork). But the best: these "lower end" forks are a blast! (at least the Float Rhythm with GRIP - the 140 mm Fit 4 is still in the box).

The bike I was looking at has the fox performance up front. I tried a friends orange the other day with a similar fork up top and it was much smoother than any rockshox I've ridden.

Agree.

My biking pals, having high end RockShox and high end Fox:

both fantastic

But "low end" RockShox and "low end" Fox: yes - huge difference. Fox is much better in the "low end" market (the "low end" like "34 Rhythm GRIP" is new for Fox. Traditionally this low end market wasn't their focus. This changed. GODD FOR US !!!)
