Hi,
Got a set of 2009 Fox 120 RL's with 15QR - they are fine except the last 4 days, the QR has felt different each time I've closed it - sometime it feel nice (not tight but definitely would need a dunt to remove the lever) and other times it feels very loose - virtually no resistance when closing and virtually no resistance to open.
The opposite side of the system is unchanged since the day I got it - in fact I suspect it's welded closed as I've never had to adjust it and the bolt is likely to be firmly seized in place so I doubt I'll be able to remove it to adjust the setting for tightness there.
The lever gets closed in front of the fork leg in a 12 o'clock position - every time.
I'm unsure why the tension keeps changing...I can't screw the QR any tighter otherwise I won't be able to close it as the fork leg will be in the way, so it isn't as though I'm missing a turn before closing the lever.
Bit stuck as the lever itself seems well in place and not loose and I can't get the axle/lever to move so nothing is loose.
Just wondering what else could be causing this? The hub is a Hope Pro II and has no signs of damage at the hub ends (so the hub hasn't shrunk in width).
Cheers.
It seems my axle is failing in some way...alarmingly Fox want £54 for a brand new one. Does anyone know if you can take them apart? I'm wondering if something inside the cam head has moved/adjusted and needs reseting.
I tried another axle in the system and it all worked and felt nice and tight...lever didn't open by blowing on it!
Royal PITA as I haven't crashed on it or given it a knock so not sure why it has just started this - overuse? Not sure...not built to last more than 2 years?
Cheers.
