[#5683894]

Very nearly stuffed the thread of my Formula 'the one' rear caliper. Just still turns and no more with an allen key wedged in...

Need to get a new caliper screw. Of course they are ridiculously expensive, expected that.

Is there a super cheap option from outside of biking world that fits?

Or more likely... are all the caliper pins for Forumla brakes interchangable? Looks like the might be and some are a good £10 less than others.

Anyone been here and done that?

do you mean the pad retaining bolt?
If so split pins are fine: you can get these in any decent hardware shop. Just use needlenose pliers to bend an end out once its in to stop it sliding back out. Tiny leatherman-alike-g tool keyring for a couple of quid and a spare pin in your trail pack, jobs a good-un.

yep split pin for me the Formula bolts are made of cheese fact and are crazy priced.

I've had a spilt pin in the back brake on my Zesty for past 6 months with no trouble and makes changing pads a doddle
