I have come accross a few abreviations over the years which I did not know at the time. A few below some of you may not know (sheer poetry):
Abbreviation - Meaning
AFAIK - As Far As I Know
AFAICT - As Far As I Can Tell
BFN - Bye For Now
BTW - By The Way
FAQ(s) - Frequently Asked Question(s)
FTR - For The Record
FUD - Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt (not only a forum abbreviation)
FWIW - For What It's Worth
FYI - For Your Information
HTH - Hope This Helps (or Helped)
IANAL - I Am Not A Lawyer
IIRC - If I Recall Correctly
IME - In My Experience
IMHO - In My Humble Opinion
IMNSHO - In My Not So Humble Opinion
IMO - In My Opinion
IOW - In Other Words
ISTR - I Seem to Remember
LOL - Laughing Out Loud
NP - No Problem
OP - Original Poster
OT - Off Topic
OTOH - On The Other Hand
PEBKC - Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair

I scratched my head and had to google it when someone on here advised me to GAFL. Obviously I hadn't been spending enough time on the internet!

oh and I am amused to see a sprinkling of 'WT for OSMM' type abbreviations in thread titles.
