seriously ridiculous braking power... possibly even too much! 😯

Finally got round to fitting my new brakes today, moving up to The Ones from Puro's as I felt a little underbraked at times. Went for a ride on Leith Hill to start bedding them in and to test them out a little...

Trails were lovely and dry, but quite loose, so almost every time I hit the front brakes I locked the front wheel up; caused some silly hairy moments and one decent washout... I think I'm going to have to take my time to get used to these puppies, it may take a while; they're almost dangerously too good for me at the moment! 😆

Anyone else find them maybe a little bit too powerful?

Take em to the alps, they'll be just fine.

Go down a rotor size! Went from Hope M4's which were 200/180 to The Ones with 180/160. They are still more powerful than the Hopes and save some weight in the process.

Yeah they are a bit overkill but I've got used to mine now, in fact I now run them on the hardtail - Blue Pig (200F & 180R).

Nope, entirely underwhelmed with mine.

18 months of running them, I have come to the following conclusions; The importer, although a nice guy, is fairly useless for spares. They eat pads like a fat kid loves cake. They have a strange feel to them (big lever throw) which gets much worse as pad wear increases. Inconsistemt lever feel when worked hard and an utter ballache to bleed properly. Not so strangely, there are a lot of people with similar, if not identical issues.

New, out of the box, and with new pads in they felt good, well, as good as any other decent brake out there, but rapidly changed. Definately not worth the £400+ they are. Maybe they work better in a trail bike application, but on a DH bike, they are woefully lacking.

had my the ones for 18 months, used them in the alps, no problems at all, only used 2 sets of pads in that time, agree that the lever throw is long, but the power on my set is superb
ive bled them, from the manufacturers instructions which was a piece of cake.
overalll superb brakes
