[#2643432]

arrived this morning from france, delivered in 2 days! incredible!

wow they are nice to look at, opted for the white ones, super super super light weight, with the bleed blocks in the lever feels amazing, so hopefully it will be the same when on the bike! just as i like them, nice and solid feel, no spongeyness just like the ones i felt on the lapierres (which is what made me want them)!

lucky the front ones arrived with 85cm hose, and my current one is about 83cm or there abouts, so no real need to faff around with shortening the front! unless it looks silly of course!

rear however is a problem, its defo gonna need shortening anyways as it needst to go through the swingarm 🙁

any tips/help with them appreciated!

very happy with the purchase cant wait to get them out now....

oh and 2 sets of SS sintered pads ordered, heard bad things about the stock pads in them!

If the stock pads are anything like in my Ones they're fine, they just lasted one wet Peak ride! On the other hand it's nice and dry now, so they might hold out a bit longer...

It's not too hard, you need a bleed kit, hose shortening kit and then follow these destructions

Or take it to your LBS to do it

ahh right, i may just keep them for spares/emergency.....i like SS sintered pads and they last ages....

im guessing i cant re-use the olive etc if i attempt to shorten the hose this weekend??

i dont have a kit or anything, just the brakes and hardware kit..

Don't think the olives are reusable so you'll need one of them
Bleed kits are £23 here

Probably cheaper for a shop to just shorten it tbh

yeah im thinking that to be honest....it will probably cost about 25quid have both shortened...

at least it will be done properly to start off with...after that i can purchase a bleed kit and hopefully attempt it myself!

how is the reach adjustment set up from new? half way, im guessing that is how far the lever travel is out or in? dependant on which way you screw?

as i said i like mine to feel solid and quite far out....i cant stand brakes that end up almost touching the bars after a ride or during heat build up.....

my xts sometimes felt like that under constant useage..

No idea how the reach comes as new, but be careful doing it as the screw thingy is very prone to rounding off,

If you bought them new then you should have the required bits for shortening the hose.
I got mine from an Ebay seller in France (also shipped really quickly and great service) and the bits were in the box.
