Need to replace the connector at the caliper after an impromptu meeting w/ a tree...
Am i right in thinking that the replacement connector sets look somewhat different than the OEM bits, e.g.:

the "machine" fitted end contector is different looking and that is the correct fitting (though usually for shortening the cable at the lever end). You will lose a slight amount hose in fitting that connector.

will good cable cutters deal happily with brake hose?
I always use a scalpel and something in the back of my mind is telling me that you shouldn't use cable cutters for some reason or another.
