Got a new bike with Formula brakes. First time I've owned a bike with disc brakes so not sure if its supposed to squeak / make a metallic noise when new? Are they supposed to wear in? Bit embarrassing on a down hill squeaking away when I apply the brakes! Shop that sold it to me says its normal for new disc brakes :/

Yeah they will, and the original Formula pads were waaaay squealier than any other I have used.

I just replaced the (worn) Formula pads in mine for some Superstar sintered and the front brake is squealing like a stuck pig.
I suppose the only bonus is that it's such an annoying noise it's making me stay off the brakes for longer than usual. 😉
