Pike seems to be the default option (I've set awaiting a frame to fit them to!), if you don't want to spend stupid money (& go fox), not the bargain that they were but check out the European mail order site for cheaper prices. That said X-fusion and MRP (& probably marz) forks should not be overlooked

Stans (flows probably) seems to the the default options on rims, though WTB's latest ones seem to go down well too or push the boat out and go light bicycles carbon

Well If you are going tapered then you will need an external lower headset that takes a tapered fork. You got tons of options when it comes to forks, cheaper option would be Revelation RCT3 and X Fusion Slant. External headset will add a bit of height at the front.

Fitting 160mm 650b RCT3 Pikes to my Zesty, and using the Spicy shock shuttle (oh and a CCBDair) for a matching 160mm at the back really brought the bike/trails alive 😉

Looking too upgrade... with a stronger fork...

Recently got a 2015 Pike from Bike-Discount.de for just over £500. Changed for just this reason - needed a beefier fork to suit the bike. The Pike is everything that's been said about it, pretty faultless. B-D also supply proper aftermarket versions, with box, pump, full seal kit and spare bottomless tokens.

Snap up the few 2015s while you can, LBS suggested they can only source 2016s now at near-£800.

Need to be careful with fork length... The 2010 314 had a zero stack HS and a 140mm fork. For a tapered fork you will need an external one that adds about 10mm to the height of the front on top of that RS are slightly longer forks than Fox.. so a 150mm Rock Shox tapered fork would be at least 2cm longer than your current fork slackening the head angle by about 1 degree and raising the bb by about 7mm.
