Bought new frame and forks a couple of months ago, and invested in an invisiframe kit for the frame. Really impressed with it, goes on much easier than helitape and comes pre-cut to the needed shapes to protect common damage points.

But having just dropped a significant wedge on some brand new Fox Float 36's - should I also be thinking about protecting these from damage? Invisiframe also do fork kits, but wondering if that's going a bit far...

They're likely to take some abuse as I like jumping/dropping off what I can, and not always with the most finesse, or ability.

Anyone else protect their expensive forks from general damage/scratches?

I use helitape on my forks - it helps keep the lowers looking good from general marks from storage etc. Also perfect for preventing otherwise inevitable cable rub.

I generally use the Bike Tart stuff as it's thin enough to stretch around some of the fork forms and doesn't yellow. BUT it takes a while to cut the right shapes and make rounded corners (prevents peeling).

That Drift stuff looks good BUT appears to be only available for DH stuff - Boxxers & Fox 40's ๐Ÿ™
