My mate is having some issues with the forks on his 29er. Last night the lock-out wouldn't work until about 30-40 minutes into the ride, this is happening every ride and the time for it to resolve itself seems to be getting longer.

The bike is stored upside down in the shed, could something be filling up with oil that shouldn't be and taking a while to drain?

The forks are, Fox Float 32 (29er) Evolution CTD AIR.

Have some sympathy for him as he's supposed to be using it for a triathlon on Tuesday, he'd be well up there if it was hilly, but the course is pancake flat!

Matt

More oil in damper side. Measure length to bottom of damper cartridge seal and ensure oil level is just over by a cm or so. Is my guess.

Once the bike is upright, put the rebound on slowest, cycle the fork a good few times. Reset the rebound, lockout should work.

Get him to store it right way up next time and see if the problem goes away?
