Gets lots of rave reviews here and elsewhere. I use silicone spray which does a similar job for 99p a can.

I use some lidl silicone spray which does make a marginal difference. Not important to do tho IMO - I only started doing it recently

Aye, it's just silicon spray. But it's not expensive and a can lasts forever so there's no great shame in buying it just for the bike-specific branding IMO

silicone spray lubricant will be fine, halfords, b+q etc will have it for far less than any bike branded product

as for buying it just for the bike specific branding, thats why you can pay ridiculous prices for brake fluid etc too, just seems daft to me...

I think it's great. Forks never suffer from stiction and they're very smooth after a spray of this stuff. I spray some on my rear shock too. Not sure if you're supposed to or not but it certainly hasn't had any adverse affects on it as I've just serviced it after two years of all weather riding and it was in perfect nick.

Smells nice. Watch out for overspray on laminate flooring though. Suddenly becomes and icerink.

It's decent, but like others have said, so is the 99p stuff. I use a tiny bit of cheapo bike oil on mine and wipe off the excess, works a treat. Have done for years and it's kept my forks running great.

I use it and it is brilliant it does what it says on the tin.

I have tried other lubes and it is the best on my forks and for a bike specific lube its quite cheap realy (compaired to chain lube)

I use Brunox Deo lube for the same effect and it's recommended by Rockshox (hopefully won't cause failure or invalidate warranty if failure)
JE James has it for about 4.5 quid.

Would 'Glovers Silk' be safe and do the same job?

Okay...silly question, but would Turtle Wax be a bad thing to put on your stanctions?

WD40 is not really a lubricant.

I use finish line stanchion lube. Most slippery stuff I've ever used a totally inert. Great on brake seals as well.

Tis good but I'm not sure I'd buy it. Still got a couple of cans from when they were giving it away at practically every DH race I went too.

After cleaning the bike , I spray some Halfords silicone spray onto the stanchions, compress the forks a couple of times, & it's surprising how much muck is lifted from within the wiper seals.

Wipe off the excess, & repeat once more.

Yeah it works, I spray the whole bike with it, seems to stop the crap sticking too badly. There are probably other sprays out there that do the same but I can't be bothered to waste my time researching them or seeking them out to potentially save literally a couple of quid. Others who don't value their time might disagree ๐Ÿ™‚

I think the fork seals are designed to deposit a thin smear of oil on the stanchions. You can see the water beading on them in the rain. I cleaned this off once and my forks became really sticky ๐Ÿ™‚

Fork juice helps a bit I guess, hard to tell really.

If you've got time to post on here you've got time to "research" cheaper alternatives, which is what the op and anyone reading the thread has done. I used silicone spray before I knew there was a specific product as it seemed obvious it would lube both stanchion and seals without harming them.

I think Fork Juice is supposed to have a much higher % of silicon compared to typical silicon sprays.

I use Fork Juice and previously used 3in1 Silicon spray and the Fork Juice seems more effective.

I use the same method after virtually every ride, and have definately noticed that the fork and shock seals are cleaner come service time - also seems to reduce stiction and extend the life of Fox stanchions a fair bit. I'm currently using Fork Juice, or 3 or 4 drops of winter chain oil. Over the years I've used GT85 & another brand of dedicated fork stanchion spray (er..that I can't remember name of). I find the chain oil is good for cleaning the wiper seals, or for keeping the seals moist when not using the bike - but it tends to attract more muck if left of the stanchions when riding. If I remember, I wipe the chain lube off the stanchions and give 'em a light spray of Fork Juice before the ride - this just seems to prevent too much crud sticking. Fork Juice does seem to be one of the better sprays I've tried.

HTH!

I use this: http://www.rapidtoolsdirect.co.uk/product/silicone-spray-400ml

It's also very good on curtain rails that aren't running well!

I think i'm going to buy some of THIS and see if it makes a difference to the performance of my 5yr old Revelations.

Ive always been happy enough with the function of the fork but today i`m going to try hunters silicon lube as used by hope in their disc brake piston/seals.Its one of the slippiest lubes ive ever came across.

Once wiped off,it leaves a very slippy surface.
