I have an 07 RS Rev on my soul HT with formula K24 brakes (160mm) and when braking the fork flexs back and forward like mad - less under compression but still there.

Theres no play in the bushes when stationary so whats up??

same forks on my wifes bike with Avid Juicy 5 and 180mm rotor are fine

ta

How far is 'like mad'? I cant say I have ever noticed my forks flexing, that's not to say they don't its just that I am concentrating more on trying not to die than on what my forks are doing. As long as they go up and down ok I'm not to bothered what else they do if they point me the right way.

Could be contaminated/unevenly worn pads. I had a similar problem last year and that's what worked for me.

Check the headset and wheel bearings, too.

Sounds like a death trap, I wouldn't ride it if I were you.

I have had this in the past with formula brakes.

problem is the pads just gripping the arms of the disc on the way around easiest way to overcome is to put a couple of washers between the caliper and the post mount. effectively extending the distance the mount provides. making the brake grip in the right place.

it put the wind right up me first time but its an easy fix
