Got a problem

I have a 5 Spot fitted with 2009 140mm travel Revelations and I have a Curtis Freeride hardtail waiting to be built hanging on the wall.

The Curtis is for up to 150mm forks but would probably be ideal with 140mm travel.

Now here's the dilemma.......

Do I take the Revs off the Turner and fit them to the Curtis and get some others for the 5 Spot or do I leave the 5 Spot alone and get some burlier forks for the Curtis eg Fox 36's, Marz 55's or Magura Thors

Any advice appreciated

Cheers

Ken

IMO, the Curtis deserves the best forks you can afford for it. Personally, I'd fit Fox 36 or 32 Vanillas or possily coil Lyrics, or yeah, something nice from Magura would be lovely too.

New frame = new forks
Very nice new frame = very nice new forks!

I'm deeply jelous of your Curtis, BTW ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm liking the look of Magura Wotans. The bar mounted travel adjust would be handy on the uphill bits

I'd try the Curtis with your Revs first. You actually might prefer 140 travel. Just because the frame is rated upto a travel doesnt mean individual customers will like it!

Wotans are indeed good forks take a while to get set up properly tho. Get some old (06) 66s and run them at 150mm.

Curtis FR with 140mm is perfect, Ive got a Curtis FR and anything over 140mm puts the front end and standover a little too high. I am running mine with some coil Pikes and its spot on (head angle static measures about 68.5 deg - so about 70 deg with sag), have run the frame with lots of different forks over the last 3 and a bit years (marz 66sl's, Fox vans, Pikes, Revs) and the 140mm Pikes/Revs were best.

If it were me I would get a set of 2010 Thors or 2010 Revs for the Curtis and leave the 5spot alone, is what I am looking at getting for my new Soul but not sure about reliability of the Thors?
