We’re thinking of a 2-3 trip to FoD with the family, I’m looking for a place where my missus and daughter are within walking distance of the forest so that they can do a walk or any activity while my son and I ride (red level tracks).

Any suggestions?

I’m thinking FoD because I was told it was better suited for families, but I’m willing to get other suggestions.

thanks!

We stayed here last may. It was lovely. In Clearwell ,so a little bit (5/10min)of a drive from where the cycling hub is. plenty of walks & some caves! on the doorstep.

Can't fault Elaine and Tony, in the forest and good food and drink nearby.

OWhitemead Forest Park.

Brilliant.

Easy, safe forest trails in every direction, 10 mins easy ride from the visitors centres, decent food onsite, indoor pool complex, spa etc. Some nice pubs around for venturing out. At holiday times they have a team running activities onsite, archery, tree climbing etc. The evening entertainment isn’t bad, in a kid oriented way. My kids love it there. Have been half a dozen times & still look forward to going back.

Several years ago we stayed at the pub in Ruardean and Psling showed us around.

It was great.
