I guess they’ll make their way onto a few show bikes.

I tend to stay away from products that have Elite in the description!

road, gravel and XC bikes with Shimano callipers using K Type pads: XTR 9100, XTR9000, Dura-Ace, Ultegra, 105, GRX.

Does this mean that gravel bikes are officially the new golf then?

Had you heard of the company before?

Are they only making a small number of these?

Has it produced news stories on lots of websites?

Job done.

Shimano make Ti plate backed pads… the only “news” here is a box, very little gold plating, and a price point set to help get free press and attention.

Those Spengler wheels look like a valve wheel. Proof that money doesn’t equal taste!

Can I just check - is that a box with an led light in?

And, 4x Shimano pads = €80 / £80 these days...

And they will customise the box they come in for an extra €20, bargain. (Although the box customisation is more than I normally pay for pads so I'm clearly not the target market!).

Are you sure you don't mean 4 pairs of Shimano brake pads?

Saw these pads a while ago https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/prime-shimano-carbon-road-disc-brake-pads/rp-prod183311 listed for £20, bling for the sake of it?

Currently ~£15.49, so at least now the price difference to standard backed pads isn't so extreme, but you still ain't going to see much of that bling once fitted inside the calipers. 😆

I think they’d make a great fun gift for someone (me) so don’t see the problem.

I suspect very few pairs will ever make it onto an actual bike.

Would it not be more fun to get a set of regular pads plus the cash difference to spend on something useful like a nice bottle of Scotch?

No. I absolutely loath Scotch.
