Has anyone seen or used one of the Followme tandem kids' trailer thingys that was reviewed in the last CTC members' magazine?
http://www.followme-tandem.com/english/

My daughter is just coming up for 6 years old and can ride a bike, but she lacks the endurance for longer rides.

So, she could ride her own bike until she's tired and then I can clip her bike onto the back of mine and continue for a decent length ride.

We had a Trailgater before and I thought it was rubbish. My daughter always ended up leaning to one side or the other, regardless of how tight the bolts were.
These Followme things look more secure.

The only other thing is they're £200! Any idea if a proficient welder could make one for cheaper??

Get a second hand Kiddyback tandem. Twice the price, but cheaper over the longer term. Ours has now come to the end of it's useful life (based on size of Son2!) and has been in use for 10 years. I can't see you using the Followme for more than a year or two to be honest.

Tandems are great.

EDIT: Son1 completed London-Oxford at age six on ours. Was hard work. Look for Dawes Toucan or Thorn Voyager.

Thanks for that.

I'm looking for just a towing attachment type thing though rather than an actual tandem.
I like having the option of her riding on her own when she can (and so does she).

They look pretty similar to the hitch part that you get on a bob-like trailer. I wonder if you could make and adaptor that would let you have the best of both worlds.

If I could find a cheap Bob trailer, and replace the trailer's wheel with my little un's front wheel that would be great!

We'd be able to carry lunch in between us as well for a decent day out!

But the trailers are more expensive that the Followme.
