Is there anybody on STW that is sufficiently qualified to decide what is or is not cool?
I seriously doubt it.
I rather like the Kansi.
I have a 2nd hand Phillips ****y
I don't think it's very cool
Ok then, Pass it over to lfgss, there's some seriously cool cats on that forum!
I believe the 'Kansi' was designed by one of the 'Martins'(ex trials bike rider) and styled to look like a 80's skyway bmx.
Personally I quite like it.
It looks like a BMX so its bound to look crap.Who would want to ride an 80s kids toy to the station ?
Me.
Looks alright to me. I'd be seen dead on it.

Or are Bromptons intrinsically not cool?
Not sure which end of the spectrum these come in at:

Soz, failed at adding picture... luddite me I am..
Flashies original pic is based on a dahon which makes it cool IMO. But then when that damn superlight in the classifieds sells I'll only have 18" and 29" wheels in my garage 8)
Oh and check Steve Parrys Bromptons for lovely pieces of kit.
This proves they are cool
As soon as you define a product as not cool - it becomes cool
I ride both a Brompton and a Five...Do I win?!
No.. no you don't.
I ride a Parlee and Dahon Vitesse..
I think you'll find I win..
you did until you mentioned the 5..
OK, I just Googled the Parlee and I'll give you that! Not with you on the Dahon though....
I just rode with a couple on Bike Fridays. One geared one single speed (71 inch gear) They flew over from Marin, had been on the Tube, trains to Wales and Scotland. They rode part of the Speyside Way off road. I met them in Tomintoul and rode down to Pitlochry with them. They had front panniers and bar bags with most everything they needed for a two week tour.
I was Sceptic-Al when I first saw them, but I'd have one tomorrow.
