6-7 years ago I fancied a Foes FXR. Decided that it would be too big and heavy (and expensive...) for my needs - and bought a Giant Reign instead.
Still like the look of the older (5.5"?) design though.
Anyone ride one, know of someone who rides one?
Are they any good, or is the single pivot design now well and truly past its sell by date?
I have a Foes XCT 5.5 with the Curnutt coil shock http://foesracing.com/site/products/frames/xct/ used to have a Reign
and prefer the ride of the single pivot.
I have a 2006 FXR 2:1 with a ti Curnutt and love it, i know someone with a Reign and it is very good,,, but i do prefer the Foes
like you for years have tried getting the weight as low as possible on any bike i own, then this year rode a canyon torque in the alps and now own one at a very light 17kilos. i ride it everywhere local woods peaks alps yes i am a little slow up hill but it feels way more stable than anything eles i have ridden to the piont i am thinking of selling my ibis mojo ๐
Hello rkk, ive got the new version and have had the older version too, both really nice bikes, very stiff rear end, and they handle well for aggressive riding, ie alps, peaks and proper riding off the beaten track, i think the xct is better for most types of riding in the uk tho, i prefer the air shocked version, ive also got a mate selling a 2007 ish fxr, i dont know how much for tho.
This will replace the XCT
