Down their today have done it before this year when the guy came on here to say he had re-done it but it needed bedding in.Now it is in great shape alot of trail when you consider its not that long loved it did it 3 times in a row awesome when done fast, doesnt look to used maybe its that right angle turn that gets people.Dowies 2[x] was good too bit soft up to 1st jump.Great down their today.last time down in July it was a mud bath.
We rode Dowies 2 for the first time yesterday, really good fun. I think I also rode the Motor Cycle trail, but not sure reading your description. Guess it's hard for you to point out or describe where it is?
Started off near a weird well type thing and a gate before a house, though the top wasnt that obvious to find. There was a very steep drop down to a fireroad, then another one with a right hand switchback on the other side of the road before it switchbacked left and smoothed out into some more flowy singletrack?
Motor cycle trail starts on a big Knoll[mound]will explain later going to eat my dinner now cheers.
OK, I think that's where we were. Sort of behind the mound is the covered well I mentioned. I think I went off piste part way down though, it got a bit scrappy and didnt look that well used. the DH runs near Worcester Lodge are excellent too, it's worth avoiding the main DH trail and the FODCA and having a decent look around.
You start on top of the mound then just follow track goes over a small jump then gets narrower through a small crater then drops down a steeper bomb hole to the right hander. If its the 1st time you have done it,then it would not be very obvious.once down the right angle turn it does go over the track down a zigzag track.I dont bother with that bit seems like you do have a the same track.also between their and Dowies is the bigfoot trail bit tame compaired with those too.People are building some new ones, some of the D/hill runs have been hammered this year because of the felling taking a few out for a while.Plenty to choose from then go of and trail ride of to the next set cant be bad.
Hey would you mind giving me a few more directions to these tracks. Ive ridden quite a few of the main tracks but dont know of the ones your talking about.
Thanks, Jon
download the Cannop route from the Fountain Pub (in Parkend) website. They have it as a Google Earth track, I managed to convert to a Garmin track and followed it.
the Old Race Track is also spot on, steep and dusty.
Think Parkend rather than Pedalabikeaway and have a nose around.
Jon they are in the woods by Ellwood past school on road then football pitch on left go till road stops and track starts after last house on right Dowies 2 starts on right and follow it down.Motorcycle trail is in the same woods futher over.I always park at pedalway and work my way over their.
