Got thursday off so thinking of heading to the FoD and was wondering what the conditions are like at the mo particularly on the red and blue routes?

Cheers

It was icy as an icy whotsit on Saturday. Frozen solid all round and fast as a fast thing.

I suspect, however, that the thaw would have set in now and it'll be a bit moist!

Thawing out up there today. Forecast is mainly dry this week, but tracks will be tacky and muddy in places. There are frosts forecast Tuesday and Wednesday so trails could be frozen Thursday.

Rode the Verderers this morning, had everthing snow/ice in exposed places, but just wet under the trees. Same for Freeminer trail.
If it remains mild should be just wet for Thursday but frost is expected. Surrounding Cannop area had a mixture of snow/wet/muddy conditions.

not bad, but a bit muddy on unsurfaced singletracks and the fire-roads due to resurfacing after rally, Verderers and Fodca should be fine,

It was a mud fest last Sunday afternoon! Can't see it being much different today

So it should be somewhere between a little bit muddy and a mud fest ๐Ÿ™‚

I rode the blue and red yesterday, both running fine. The final descent on the Verderers is a lot of fun.

We got there just after the rain stopped so it was a bit wet/slimey in places, only one claggy section on Verderers.
