Does anyone have one of these intriguing machines?

Its gnarl appears to be of roughly the correct magnitude for my intended uses, and while it looks a bit gawky it's only arguably hideous.

13.25 kgs, £2,025.

Thoughts or experiences anyone? 🙂

Thoughts?

It's a lot of money for something you can't try beforehand, and seems to have lower spec parts to pay for the carbon frame. Do you want a carbon framed full suss?

Don't CRC post them out to potential buyers for demo?

If you're lucky you might even get pedal reflectors like in that pic too!

13.25kgs seems a bit lardy for a carbon framed MTB

Tell you what, I have just imagined getting "loose skin" trapped in the exposed shock/linkage area.

That would be beyond all pain imaginable. :-/

Pivot free at the back?

£2k - you can get a 'safer' bet for the money - some fine, fine bikes...As ever, its the ride that's the important bit.

Not very light either.

My heckler with a coil shock is only a kilo heavier.

Internal cable routing, no thanks.

wheels, cassette, brakes look fairly weighty imo

actually - the brakes are a dirt cheap option for an expensive bike

Ah OK. I have not bought a proper bike for so long that I am really struggling. 🙂

any reason why you are looking at a focus?? have you looked at the Cube's on CRC? nice bikes and a bit unusual too.

Giant Anthem X worth a look for a XC race-ish bike.

Seen one in real life. Not impressed at all, found it very ugly. Heavy for what it is.

i have to laugh at the above
trapped skin in the linkage +freak
a kilo is a lot of weight in a bike+ffs

its a nice bike & allthough its not as nice as last years in looks or spec .
imo it is light for what it is but the forks are about as good as the comments above =not very.

the main problem is the pound against the euro this has hit all manufacturers in one way or another even orange who import there metal from germany & the us is struggling.

i would opt for the next model up/or go for one of there rather nice carbon ht.

my advice is if you want this bike give it untill aug when wiggle slash there prices.

i have been to the focus factory whhen i was there working for scheppach & it is very impressive .
