On carbon bars - what is the best way to make sure that the grips stick and don't move when wet? Or is that a "moon on a stick" question?
hairspray beleive it or not. ๐
SPRAY THE BARS WITH CHEAPO HAIRSPRAY - THE GRIPS WILL SLIDE ON EASILY AND THE HAIRSPARAY WILL DRY TO FORM AN ADHESIVE, KEEING THEM IN PLACE.
puncture glue
3m artists adhesive on bars and spray a little Iso Propyl Alcohol inside grips, slide on and leave to dry. They won't budge even in a thermonuclear explosion.
What happens if the hairspray gets wet - surely the grips will slip?
Hairspray only works if you don't ride in the rain, that's why I have resorted to a removable glue, but I can't remember the name.
no nails
Is hairspray ok on carbon bars?
3M spray glue
renthal grip glue??
+1 for artists spraymount.
It's also really good for sticking innertube to the chainstay.
I use araldite - sticks fairly permanently but can be peeled off when you want to get it off (foam grips would get trashed though).
Remeber its on carbon - are tehse methods safe?
disc brake cleaner - be quick - leave overnight
Hairspray, never had it slip, rain or shine.
