Coil Pikes- is it worth the expense? Will I an average rider see noticeable differences or do you need to be skilled/fast etc to appreciate?

No, not worth it. Unless you are paying him to set the rebound and air pressures for you again.

Or unless the bushings are a bit slack, in which case you've not got a lot of choice!
