I'm considering a float x2 rear shock but I've just read something that says it's not possible to service the air can without a full damper strip down.
Can any owners confirm or deny this?
Thanks.
Its not possible to do this without a full strip down I'm afraid.
Not user serviceable like the old fox stuff or it is if you can afford all the specialist tools required but it's probably just easier to get it serviced every year. Pity as previous fox stuff was easy to service the air sleeve to keep it plush and clear of dirt/grit to prevent scratches.
On the plus side they seem pretty durable and the service interval is 125hrs/yearly so that's quite a lot. Mojo recommend just ride it and send in for service as required.
Thanks guys. I'm apprehensive about that as my Monarch died even though I did and air can service 4 or 5 times last year.
Sealing on RS rear shocks is terrible. Seen so many that have worn shock bodies. The Fox sealing is considerably better.
does this just apply to the X2, or all the current generation Float shocks? , in particular the 2016 Float Evol I've just bought.
I think it's just the X2 this applies to as the piggyback is on the shaft end rather than the can end and therefore, gets in the way of can removal.

As Onzadog has said its only on the X2.
