One for the arm chair engineers and material scientist.

My on-one twelfty seatpost is starting to flake. Noticed it today adjusting my saddle. Not something I've seen before, anyone know what's going on?

It's pretty old and is adjusted lots, it's not mostly silver but started off black.

Any seatpost bargains at the minute, about £30 budget?

On-one had some carbon FSA ones for £20 last time I looked. Might have only been 350mm ones though

Don't want carbon, seen what I've done to this one! Something metal, preferably silver as it'll end up that way in a few months.
