is there any bar that you can fir a road sti shifter on other than road drops.
the bers are to narrow/odd shaped/uncomfortable for me.
help.
you could try on-one midges for a bit of height and width?
Try some different drops? They're not all the same.
sometimes my belly gets in the way of getting to the drops too ๐
bakes, deffo got that problem.
but 25 yrs on flats and my wrists wont bend to use drops.... ๐
tbh, ton the only time I use the drops on my road bike is on long descents where I want to tuck in a bit - the rest of the time I ride on the hoods (or, if it's a really long hill and no-one's lookign, the flat bit by the stem).
+1 to what wwaswas said.
Don't Salsa do some drops that are wider than most?
Road STIs don't work on flat bars, but road flat bar controls do.

Er, rather than buying two road bikes, both with drop bars, do you not think you should have bought two flat barred road bikes?
Anyway, though you are quite used to riding flat bars, drops will soon become comfortable and give you a variety of hand positions. I have to say that I now find flat bars cumbersome and uncomfortable..!
nitto moustache bars will do it, and they're pretty wide, with a good range of hand positions.
