I'm trying to fit some Nobby Nic USTs onto Bontrager Rhythm Comps rims and they're an extremely tight fit and I just can't lever the last bit of bead over the rim - any tips gratefully received.
mix a bit of fairy liquid and water and go round and paint solution on rim it should just slide on then
Find someone with strong thumbs.
(thats what I had to do in the end)
Start opposite the valve, and work the bead down into the well of the rim in both directions, this will give you the maximum of slack in the tyre when you get to the valve.
Thanks for the tips, much appreciated. I'll give it another try...
Bonty Rhythm comp rims are the least "tubeless ready" rims I've ever tried! Advice as above. Make sure the rest of the tyre is sitting as far in the "rim well" (smallest diameter) as possible to increase your chances of getting the last part of the bead over.
I gave up getting UST NNs on my Rhythm Pro's and got the LBS to do it - they have a burly south african with superhuman thumbs and he got them on for me! Tight as you like!
