Looking to fit some IS Mono Minis to my old Trek Elite 9.8 2001 frameset, that has v-brake posts as well as a tab with holes 22mm apart (called 'universal' at the time i think). Any one know how I can do this? What kind of adapter will I need?

These do a 22mm one down the page a bit http://www.torontocycles.com/Selling/Adapters.html

Hope used to do similar adapter as the Torontocycles but it is not available anymore.
The fun just starts after getting the adapter, fitting caliper and adapter inside rear triangle is somewhat problematic in small frames and good luck getting the whole system aligned... my wifes Klein required quite a bit work with the file for the adapter and the frame as both were covered in thick paint.

Shimano used to do an adapter like the Toronto Cycles one, I sold one to the chap who bought my 2001 9.8, although I did say I wasn't sure it'd work. The Toronto Cycles one looks like it'd work.

I've got one of these if you need it - Adapter

Is this what you've got? - Chainstay Mount

I've got that caliper and lever if you need that.

I had a Hayes caliper on mine and was going to put a Mono Mini on but I never got round to using the adapter as the frame broke.

Rhys-gibby, I'm interested in the adapter+caliper as it looks like it will fit. No email in your profile, but please could you get in touch through mine. Thanks.

That was like the Shimano adapter, you have to be a bit careful with caliper choice, they wouldn't all fit when I looked.

Hope the new 9.7's working out alright Rhys, fitted some proper tyres to it yet!?

Hey Nick! - slight diversion here.

Yeah 9.8 is good, have a pair of Schwalbe Jimmy's on now. The chainset has Middleburn rings on now which are ok, but to chainsuck occasionaly. The bike is still dirty from the For Goodness Shakes XTM enduro just over a week ago.

I might come down to Beyond this week to buy some local trail maps. You going to the cycle show?

Nah I'm not, a couple of guys are going tomorrow.

Saw you did the XTM, I did the XTT on the Saturday, was going to do the Enduro too, shame there weren't more people as Toby advertised it quite heavily.
