[#2673840]

I have just bought a set of Enduro Bearings for my BB in a shop in Ross On Wye. It comes with a wee tool for the extraction of the old bearings and the packaging says that instructions are on the Enduro website.

I cannot find the instructions but I think it all looks self explanitory but if anyone has experience of performing the task I would be very interested.

RJ, I do not think that these instructions are applicable. The bearings came with a little tool - v-shaped thing with black ends - that is for the removal of the old bearings. It is that that I need the instructions for not the bespoke expensive tool on the tech docs.

A large screwdriver can be
used as a punch from the
opposite side (blade placed
in the "fold" of the tool).

A screwdriver can also be used
to form a "T-Handle"
(Allowing the bearing to be
pulled out from the same
side that the puller is
installed from).

Klunk,

That's it and thank you very much. I assumed that you put it in from the back and tapped it out but clearly it is the other way round. Have you ever used one?

no, i've never used one , i've got one of the dedicated enduro tools. I'm guessing you'll have to do the removal with the bearing cups still in place as you need clearance for the bearing to come out. I'm presume also you remove the bearings with the top hats still attached.

what make of bb is it ? IIRC shimano units only have a very small gap on one side behind the bearings it might prove tricky to remove with that tool.

It is a Superstar BB which, incidently, has lasted extremely well but I saw the bearings in a shop and thought I would give changing them a go as opposed to buying a whole new unit. I will take it to bits and have a look. Cheers for the help and advice; I will let you know how I get on.
