The Animals - House of the Rising Sun

I remember it was on RAK records.
It's what started me off wanting to play guitar.
I desperately wanted to be able to play it. I tracked down some geezer who could, and wouldn't leave him alone until he showed me. 35 yrs later I'm still playing!
Cycling and guitaring. Best two things ever!

Awful video, but the lead singer had nice legs. It was the 80s, I was starting to become dimly aware of these things called 'girls' and the pics of the lass dressed as Barbarella that came with the vinyl single sold me on it...

HELL YEAH!

As good today as it ever was, if not better... 8)

First album I bought though was slightly more embarrasing... Hey, I started buying albums at 11, only started buying singles at 18!

I once got really pissed with them in a flat in Birmingham after they supported a friends band (the 'C-Men' har har har), thought I was going to get off with one of them, but didn't 🙁

Yay - snap Bruneep! Ah, I well remember Rat Trap being played at the Pitchford Village Hall YFC disco Christmas 1978....

Having said that was my first single - that ignores the Yingtong Song by the Goons 😳 , and Merry Christmas by Slade which I got secondhand off a mate.

I only ever bought two proper singles, the second one was Walking on the Moon by the Police which I still think is a cracker.
