Theres some familair patterns here....

After a series of Townsend/Halfords/Recovered from Skip bikes, this was what I'd declare as my first, proper MTB.

2000, 15th Birthday, Dad drove me down the JeJames in Sheffield with all my worldly savings clutched in my hand. I remember there was a full suspension Marin B17 hanging up that seemed like something from another universe that only billionaires could ever afford.

Current bikes change very often but the most recent include this (which really would feel like something from another Universe back in 2000, carbon everything and it has a motor in it!)

And this one.... which is still a hardtail made of Steel!

Interestingly, I just had a look on eBay, This could make a very nice wall ornament....

I wonder if it still glows in the dark?

First that I paid for with my own money as a16/17 year old was my Look MI80 with full Deore DX, that I slowly upgraded over time until it was stolen from the bike rack at the University of Swansea in 1994. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures, but the internet provides:

Currently, I have two MTBs I ride regularly. My 2023 Orange Phase 29 Pro (in Fizzy Orange no less, you have to have had an Orange Orange, surely?!), and a custom frame Pinion hardtail made for my by Matt from 18Bikes (check their Instagram, it's in there somewhere)!

First MTB - a Raleigh Activator bought from Kays catalogue (stock photo as I've no photos of mine) - wife went mad when it arrived! 🤣

'Latest' and only bike - a 25yr old Ti Inbred! (I don't ride anymore but I just can't sell this - we've been through too much together!)...
