Also, the other days I'll be with my adult kids visiting / walking so I took note of your recommendations but my daughter is doing all research for the non cycling days. I'll try to ride for 2 days. Edit: clockwise looks better and less climbing indeed.
No problem.
You absolutely don't need a guide. The info on the website and at the lift stations is good. The route is pretty well signposted. Different colour signs for clockwise Vs counter clockwise.
The lift in Corvara is a little hard to find. Maybe get a gpx track if you're worried.
That's super useful as it tells me CostaBella and Fodom lifts close 20/09 so just fine as I arrive on 17/09. Isn't there a super hard black at the end (Electric line), which looks perhaps a tad beyond my confidence level? Can it be avoided?
Also ALBA - COL DEI ROSSI closes on 13/09 so that kills off Anti clockwise as that would add 2400m of manual climbing presumably!
You can avoid the Blacks easily enough.ย They're super rooty and tough in the wet (or snow.....).ย Or just push the tougher sections, they arent all that continuous.ย You could avoid dropping down to Canazei altogether if you wanted.ย There's quite a bit of fireroad on the way down in any case.ย You could do the Rode Line trails instead (technically they would be on the anti clockwise loop).ย They're very much euro flow trails.ย If that's not your thing, look for a more natural enduro trail off Joel, which is excellent.ย Or there's a long ridge line decent south off the Col Rodella.
Looks like the Campetillo lift is still shut this summer.
^ thanks again! Really pleased that I am staying in Selva as it looks like I can do a couple of runs early in the morning anyway, in addition to the main tour.
I'll probably won't need to do the Innsbruck leg with all that riding under my belt!
