...for the sake of it, rather than going somewhere particularly, last night. I actually enjoyed it, especially the feeling of speed, and the ease with which it rolls, compared to mtb's. I can see the attraction.

I don't know about fun yet, there are certainly fun aspects, but with skinny tyres, worse brakes and drop bars, i felt a lot more vulnerable to other road users, compared to out on my mtb.
The only problem with road riding is that it's made me afraid of mud; As soon as the trails get muddy the mountain bike's packed away and out comes the road bike.

So is listening to folk constantly saying 'MTFU', I really hate that.
Usually said by folk with too much to prove.
Road riding is ace btw.
