Are they similar in terms of course and overall scale of event?

Noooo....

Mayhem is massive by comparison and considerably hillier/harder. It has around 1000ft of climbing per lap. That said, it's my favourite event all year - yes the course is tame (hilly but not difficult to ride or technical) but as an event it is phenomenal.

Have to agree with gee

SITS is much more relaxed and a little easier.

SITS is [s]much[/s] WAY WAY WAY more relaxed and a [s]little[/s] WHOLE LOT easier.

There, FTFY

No 24hr race is easy, but SITS is probably a "nicer" way to dip your toe into the water. That is, unless you're planning on doing Mayhem as a 10 when you're only likely to have to ride 2 laps each anyway.

What Gee said. I personally prefer the SITS course as it's so fast!

I may be going mad but the nutcracker website doesn't actually say what date it is on?
